New Library for Parish

County Councillor David Parsons made a request to Parish Councillors at their meeting on the 21st January to consider the building of a new library on the Forest East Park, Kings Drive. After considering the matter, the members of the Council agreed that they would support Councillor Parsons request.

Leicestershire County Council and Leicester Forest East Parish Council will now enter into negotiations to start the process.

LATEST INFORMATION FROM BLABY DISTRICT COUNCIL REGARDING SITE C.
The District Council are currently considering the representations received on the Core Strategy (some 700 representations were received by the District Council). The initial programme had submission to the Secretary of State in September 2009, which did not happen due to the above considerations. Once the District Council has considered all those representations they will advise their Cabinet Members on how best to proceed with the Core Strategy. The District Council will keep all parties updated on progress.

PUBLIC MEETING to discuss the Proposed Blaby District Council Local Development Framework Plan

The Parish Council held their public meeting on Tuesday 10th March at the Parish Hall, Kings Drive. In attendance were the Chairman of the Parish Council, Bob Scott, County Councillor David Parsons, District Councillors David Clements and Tony Dolby, the Clerk to the Parish Council and approximately 75 parishioners from various parts of the parish.

Attached are the notes from that meeting.

It should be noted that the District Council has extended it's consultation period until the end of June 2009 and anyone wanting to make comments on the Blaby Local Development Framework - Core Strategy (Alternative Options) and Sustainability Appraisal may do so by either writing to Blaby District Council, Council Offices, Narborough, Leicester LE19 2EP, for the attention of the Planning Policy Team or by completing the online electronic form available on the District Council's website www.blaby.gov.uk.

TUESDAY TEAPOT GROUP - Parish Hall, Kings Drive, LFE. The Group meet every 2 weeks and they will next meet on the 16th March 2010 between 2pm and 4pm. This is a opportunity for ladies/gentlemen over the age of 55 to drop in and have a chat over a cup of tea/coffee and cake.

New Play Space for Kings Walk

Latest News ... The Parish Council has submitted an application for Playbuilder funding towards the proposed new play space on Kings Walk. We will be advised in March 2010 as to whether or not we have been successful in this application.
