Copy Letter from Parish Council to Blaby District CouncilDistrict Councillor Clement's comments on the SUEDistrict Councillor Clements comments on the SUE. 'That a Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) is to be built in Blaby is still a matter of consultation as there is much question as to whether the 4,200 houses in the SUE are required as part of the circa 8,600 required to be built in Blaby District, given the current economic situation and the overall demise of the building industry. However, this question needs to be part of the campaign that our Members of Parliament, our County Councillors and Blaby District Council need to focus on. Locally, we have to concentrate on the likelihood that site C adjacent to Leicester Forest East being the one chosen for the SUE. The fact that the development is called sustainable should mean that it is able in all aspects to stand on it's feet and be fully independent in all services and amenities. Nevertheless, there are certain questions that should be asked and concerns expressed ensuring that Blaby District Council's planning department are aware of. 1. That there should be a clearly defined and protected 'Green Wedge' between the SUE and the current parish boundary of Leicester Forest East.
