    The Parish Council is responsible for two car parks within the Parish. One at the Parish Hall on Kings Drive and the other on Somerfield Way at the entrance to the Forest East Park. Parents dropping off their children at Stafford Leys Primary School are encouraged to use the car park on Somerfield Way to avoid congestion on Hunters Way and Wolsey Close and Somerfield Way. The Car Park at the Parish Hall is closed by 9pm each evening. The Car Park on Somerfield Way will be closed by 7.00pm each evening.

    The Parish Council is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Parish Hall on Kings Drive, Forest East Park, Leicester Forest East. If you wish to hire the hall please contact the Clerk on 0116 2392198 or email susanljones23@ntlworld.com or complete the Village Hall Hiring Form for further information. The hall is for hire 7 days per week. Closed Bank Holidays.

  • Conservation areas

    The Spinney on Kings Walk is our conservation area. The land was donated to the parish in 1986 and over the last few years work has been undertaken to encourage wildlife in the Spinney. Children from Stafford Leys and Holmfield Primary Schools have planted daffodil bulbs in the Spinney and a footpath was installed last year by the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers.

    The Parish Council owns the land at the Parish Hall, the Forest East Park and the open space on Kings Walk together with the Spinney on Kings Walk. The Parish Council also owns the Parish Hall on Kings Drive.

    The Parish Council office is at 23 Seymour Way, Leicester Forest East. The office is open between 8.30am and 1.30pm Monday to Friday. An answerphone facility is available for out of hour enquiries. Please note that this is a private address and prior appointments should be made with the Clerk to visit the office.

    We receive monthly updates on crime from our Local Beat Officer, PC I. Ahmed. PCSO A Palmer also writes updates for inclusion on the parish council website. At the present time the Parish Council is advertising a vacancy for a Neighbourhood Watch Development Officer.   • Disabled parking

    Disabled Parking is available in the car park at the Parish Hall on Kings Drive, or in the car park on Somerfield Way.

  • Dog litter bins

    The parish council have provided dog litter bins in the Forest East Park and Kings Walk Open Space. These are emptied weekly by our Street Orderly. Others in the parish are emptied by the District Council on a weekly basis. Please ensure that you clear up after your pets.

    There are rights of ways within the parish, these come under the responsibility of Leicestershire County Council. If you should encounter a problem whilst out walking please let us know by completing the Local Council Contact Form and we will advise the appropriate department at County Hall.

    The Parish Council has the responsibility for grass cutting in the Forest East Park and Kings Walk Open Space. All other open spaces and grass verges are the responsibility of the District Council.

    Leicestershire County Council are responsible for the gritting of all roads.

    There are several halls within the parish and these are available for hire for local events.

    The Parish Council employs a Street Orderly, Mr. Clarence Haywood, who works 20 hours per week litter picking in the parish. If you want to report any problem areas please do so by completing the Local Council Contact Form.

    The Forest East Park is situated off Somerfield Way/Kings Drive. Kings Walk Open Space and the Spinney are off Kings Walk.

    The Parish Council considers all applications and comments, if applicable are made to Blaby District Council.

  • Playgrounds

    At the present time the Parish Council is responsible for management of the playground on Kings Walk and Somerfield Way. The Playground on Somerfield Way will be dismantled over the next few weeks and it is the intention of the Parish Council to provide much improved facilities in the Forest East Park. Consultations will be undertaken with the young people of the parish to seek their views on what play equipment they would like in the new play area.

    There is a recycling bin for clothing in the car park at the Co-operative Store, Hinckley Road.

    The Parish Council manage and maintain the football pitch/cricket pitch on Kings Drive Playing Field.

    Leicestershire County Council are responsible for all street lighting in the parish. Please let us know via the Local Council Contact Form if there are any lights out - making a note of the lighting column number please and location. We will then arrange for them to be repaired.
